Flower power

Once, people went there for the songs of revolution, now they go there to browse. The Museum at Bethel Woods commemorates the Woodstock festival and preserves the historic site of the 1969 event. According to its website, the museum “embodies the key ideals of the [’60s] – peace, respect, cooperation and a connection to the planet we live on and all the people who inhabit it.”

This past August they held their third Hippiefest. “Come be a Hippie for a day,” the site says. “A full line of flower power paraphernalia. . . will be available at the show.” Among the items for sale were model hippie vans like the one pictured below.
