Christian toy maker one2believe™ is out to conquer the marketplace and ensure their Samson Spirit Warrior action figure, and other faith-based toys, will have a permanent spot on Wal-Mart shelves. In declaring what they call “The Battle for the Toy Box,” one2believe is urging Christians to go to Wal-Mart to buy their toys, which the world’s largest retailer is putting on shelves for a six-month trial period.

This is the first time Wal-Mart is carrying a line of Christian toys and one2believe founder David Socha is touting it as a marketing victory for Christianity. Evangelical powerhouse Focus on the Family is backing the retail ministry.

When asked about Wal-Mart’s spotty reputation on labor rights, Socha told Geez that Wal-Mart gets “picked on a lot” but actually has “very high ethics standard.” He said the company’s toys are made in China, but all suppliers are subject to strict monitoring and visits by company reps.
